Vistic XS3

XS3 is a set of services developed on the .NET platform.  Both Microsoft .NET and Mono are supported.  The core modules are available as a download to enable client applications to be developed against XS3.

XS3 supports the following services:

• Virtual File System - including an XPROC pipeline
• AMIS - Accounting and Manufacturing Information Service
• WIKI - Custom documentation and collaboration
• Search - Virtual file system searching
• XQuery - Business object query language

XS3 is a backend product that can be used to deliver rich online applications.

Vistic XS3 Services

Vistic XS3 is a collection of XML web services.  These are exposed as SOAP RPC service.  The services exposed are loosely grouped into the following categories:

• Virtual File System
  The virtual file system is the core of our customisation services for XS3. The Virtual file system implements a database based file storage system that has an integrated XPROC pipeline that allows for the preparation and presentation of XML data and pages.
• AMIS
  AMIS is an Accounting and Manufacturing Information System.  In development since 1990 this system delivers the following functionality:
  • General Ledger
  • Customers
  • Suppliers
  • Inventory
  • Materials Planning
  • Distribution Planning
  • Shop Floor Control
  • Asset Management
  • Timesheeting
  Each module is licenced seperately and can be upgraded at any time.
• Security
  A comprehensive security system is implemented on top of the virtual file system and AMIS services.
  An unlimited number of users can be defined with an unlimited number of roles.  Access control lists can be assigned to most business objects and either to roles or users.
• WIKI
  For documentation or collaboration services, a wiki creole service is provided.  Any number of Wiki folders can be created to service XHTML pages defined using Wiki Creole
• SEARCH
  A search service is provided that allows for searching the virtual file system for content.
• XQuery
  An XQuery engine can be used withing the XProc pipeline to query structured data.  A complete object model is provided as an XSD to allow for validated XQuery operations.

Vistic XAPP

Vistic XAPP is a hosted version of XS3.  The server is based on Amazon Web Services to provide a scalable and high performance solution for todays online delivery model.

Vistic XAPP is an Amazon Web Services based hosting platform that hosts XS3 services for subscribers.  The platform is based on the key Amazon web services:

• Elastic Load Balancing
• EC2 compute instances
• Relational Database Services
• Cloudfront
• Cloudwatch

This platform allows us to deliver a highly reliable and scalable solution to meet todays online applications.
